The year started off with us returning from our trip to San Francisco and San Diego.
After coming back, I went on a short work trip in April to Montreal, QC and devoured a delicious brick oven pizza that I’ll return for!
The following month we stepped foot in Europe for the first time! I was so excited for this trip. It was our, “every year travel somewhere you’ve never been” place. We lived and breathed in the Italian culture. From Siena, Florence, Pisa to Rome.
Very shortly after this trip, I made the decision to move on to a new position and took a 1 week break in between to live up to my name, The Roadtrip Girl. With boyfriend in tow, we made a 3 day road trip to Ottawa and became a tourist in my own city for a day.
Before accepting my new position, I had already rented a cottage for my family to spend a relaxing week in Muskoka. Carl had to fly out for work in the middle of this trip which was a downer but still nice to spent time with the parents and the pups of course.
Four months into my new position, I got the opportunity to head out to San Francisco to do some work training and of course, wanted Carl to come along since in Montreal I discovered I was a terrible solo traveler. This San Francisco trip was even better than the last. Muir Woods was truly enchanting, magical even.
In between some of those trips, we watched good friends get married, frequented different events in the city, drove around Ontario for short hiking trails and went on short weekend cottage visits.
Now here we are, back in the west coast ready the new year, just like the last year. In 2016 we’ll be off to Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea (for the first time) and watching Adele in LA (another one off my bucket list!) I must admit, there are days I wish for this and wish for that, to be like someone else, live a different lifestyle, but at this very moment, I reflect back on 2015 and I am truly grateful for all that I have and all that I’ve experienced.
I wish you safe travels for 2016 and hope you also find what drives you in life.
